Meet Kristen

Therapy is a collaborative and relational process. I strive to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where individuals can explore their experiences, uncover barriers to growth, and develop meaningful change. My approach is rooted in person and couple-centered therapy, emphasizing authenticity, empathy, and unconditional positive regard.

I am a Marriage and Family Therapy Associate and Mental Health Counselor Associate. I work with couples, families, adults, teens, and children navigating relationship struggles, change-of-life issues, depression, anxiety, and PTSD. I also have training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and can provide trauma-informed care to help individuals navigate past experiences with greater self-compassion and resilience.

I integrate techniques from Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to tailor treatment to each person’s unique needs. I aim to empower clients with the insight and skills necessary to move toward healing, connection, and fulfillment.

Outside work, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring creative pursuits, and traveling whenever possible.

Marriage and Family Therapy

Focus on improving your relationships and interactions within a couple or family. Together, we will address emotional, behavioral, and relational issues by viewing problems in the context of the family system rather than isolating them within individuals. Therapy will address communication, conflict resolution, and strengthening emotional bonds. Typically, meetings are weekly or bi-weekly and conducted online.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is a one-on-one approach to exploring thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and life challenges. It provides a confidential space for self-reflection, emotional support, and personal growth for clients dealing with issues like anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, or relationship difficulties. The therapy is tailored to the individual's needs, promoting healing, self-awareness, and positive change. Sessions are online.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is designed to help people process and heal from traumatic memories and distressing life experiences. During EMDR, the therapist guides the client to recall traumatic memories while simultaneously engaging in bilateral stimulation, such as side-to-side eye movements or tapping. This process is believed to help the brain reprocess memories, reduce their emotional charge, and help clients develop healthier responses. EMDR is especially well-known for treating PTSD, but is also used for anxiety, depression, and other issues. Sessions are only done in person.
